The Ferrari F12 TdF

ferrarif12tdf_3

Ferrari has revealed its latest rakish offering: the limited edition F12 TdF. Lighter, faster and bolder than the F12 Berlinetta, this reincarnation pays homage to the famed 1956 250 GT of the same name which brought home the motoring Tour de France four years running.

Inexorably striving for motoring mastery, Ferrari’s Maranello factory has bred maximum performance with effortless driveability. A naturally-aspirated 6.3l V12 engine pumps out 574 kilowatts of power and 705m of torque, and gets you from nought to 100 in a mere 2.9 seconds. Bold lines and an aggressively beautiful body turn heads while its improved aerodynamics and Virtual Short Wheelbase steering system (meaning four-wheel steering) keep it on the road, or track, better than ever.

But the engineers didn’t stop there. The F12 TdF has been given Ferrari’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with 30% faster upshifts, 40% faster downshifts and with ratios six percent shorter. The F12TdF’s track is wider, wheels larger, and stopping performance improved with one-piece brakes taken from the one and only LaFerrari.

The end result? A concept-like road car unafraid of any track. And with only 799 to be built, the F12TdF is definitely one for the collectors.
