Not Just A Smoking Gun: Holland and Holland
Beginning as a firearms manufacturer in 1835, Holland and Holland has become one of the most renowned shotgun manufacturers in the world. And with an entry-level shotgun taking a little more than $100,000 out of your bank account, they remain without doubt a symbol of unassailable luxury, and affluent flair.
And flair is exactly what Holland and Holland do. Intricate designs, immaculate workmanship and attention to detail have earned the company its unblemished reputation as one of the world’s finest gunmakers, and designers of decadent safari, lounge and smoking attire.
A recent collaboration with Range Rover saw the release of a decadent Autobiography Black. Every soft-touch leather seat reclines, the interior woodgrain is cut from a single piece of walnut, and each door handle has been painstakingly engraved with Holland & Holland’s signature Acanthus scrollwork. In fact, so much detail was put into the vehicle that it’s the most expensive Range Rover ever made, and only 40 have been made.
It’s no surprise then that where such exclusivity and wealth reign supreme, fashion and style is not far from the spotlight: and so, Holland & Holland’s exclusive collection of couture. Not solely intended for the field, offered is menswear, womenswear and accessories for all manner of leisurely pursuits.
And it is imperially dapper. Their 2015 A/W collection was a stylish mix of dark earthly wools, sharp cut tweeds and elegant cashmere knits. Silk cravats were boldly patterned, safari coats speak of timeless yet functional style, and smoking jackets reflect the moda di Pitti Uomo. They even offer a bespoke tailoring service for the lady or gentleman seeking that unquestionably exclusive touch.
